Voici un récit d'un longtemps passé:

La prison des condamnés

En arrière de ces barres de fer,
je me demande quoi faire.

je me demande quoi faire.
Attendant notre pénitence,
ou plutôt notre sentence.

Ce récit vient d'un gobelin nommé:
Winchester Smith, ingénieur goblin, emprisonné et condamné.

Mile et une excuses

Après avoir pris connaissance de mon tord,
je n'ai que des remords.
Mon propos déplacé,
vous as certes blessées.

Merci

Voici une chanson dans un language étrangé... L'auteur est inconnue

THE BALLAD OF THE THREE

In the times of Robin's Nest,
A gathering came to see,
Just what the fight was all about,
And what became of the three.

A Balrog had moved into the hills,
Above the quiet village,
Terror and fear gripped the folk,
As the creature destroyed and pillaged.

As time passed, the destruction grew,
And the town felt a greet need.
The people resolved to kill the beast,
And three were chosen for the deed.

The three were warriors, strong and brave,
Their lasses soft and fair,
They came upon the rotten cave,
The creatures foul, dark, lair.

The lair was entered first by Ronn,
The bravest of the lads,
His screams were heard throughout the land,
And his children lost their dad.

The next to enter was Marvin the Bold,
The eldest, with Gray hair flying,
from the cave echoed the sounds,
Of Marvin boldly dying.

The last looked at the cave and thought,
Of his options and plans,
To charge, to feint, to fight, to die,
He was the last, named Tranns.

The last one of the three resolved,
To take action swift and true,
Tranns left the cave, went back to town,
And comforted the lady's of the other two.

Thus ends the ballad of the three.

The Unknowned Hero

The most potent lord of darkness had not always been so. In the early days, Toros was among the weaker gods. Many thought that he would fall early in the god wars. Knowing his vulnerability, Toros gathered his most powerful followers in a secluded forteress keep. There were nine magi, each a master in his arcane. The high prest of Toros was present also; supervising, and inspiring the faithful. Seeing the new races being created around him by the other gods, Toros decided that this was a path he should follow too. Plans were made to create a bi-pedal life form but with reptilian features, not human.

For many months, the arcanists gathered all applicable tomes togetherand went through them thouroughly. They spoke with the oracles and scribes of the day until all knowledge on the subject was known by the ten. They then spent many more months preparing the many scrolls and incantations that would be necessary for the rite.

On the night before the attempt was to be made, the High Priest ordered all magi to bed early to rest up for the following day. The chamber was sealed and the door guarded. No one was allowed to remain in the room. The mages slept a peaceful sleep and gathered strenght for the next day.

A shaddow made it's way into the incantation room through a pair of improperly looked shutters on the window. The unknown Hero, a spy and thief of incredible ability, knew that something of value was going on in this room through local rumor, but not what. He had seen copies of ingrediant lists that included many prescious gems, and gold. He gingerly made his way around the room until he spotted the pile of prescious gems piled in a large bowl, in the center of a table. The gems were quickly secreted into a inner pocket, and then the master thief did something which would cast him in infamy. He replaced the gems he had taken with a series of cut glass pieces which looked like the gems he had taken, but were worth 1/10 000th the value. The unknown Hero did this to hide his thievery and hopefully blame someone else. He made his exit with little effort after leaving behind his token sign.

The next day, the mages assembled early to carry out the work given to them long ago. A large fire was to act as the crucible for the creation and it was lit as soon as they entered. As the pit flamed, they gathered the material components around the pit along with the long passages of complex spells. The first elements of the spell to be added were several hundred reptile scales. Sand, silver, and gold shavings were added next. All the mages began their incantations simultaniously. Blood was added to the pit, and the fire hissed and spat loudly. The floor of the room began to rumble slightly with the power of the gathering spells. The « gems » were added last of amid a high pitch of chanting. All assembled were waiting for the magic and spell components to take effect. It was then that the rumbling turned to tremors and cracks began appearing in the walls. The magi and high priest did not know what had gone wrong, but they knew something horrible had gone wrong.

Far above them, Toros looked down and saw the devastated building. He knew immediatly that his followers had failed him. His first impulse was to casst down a fierce attack to punish those who had failed him. A bolt of crimson lightning began to descend towards the earth.

It was then that one of the main supporting walls of the forteress cracked and gave way. The entire east side of the building shifted. This caused the descending lighting to hit not the magi, but the crucible pit. A burst of white light exploded from the pit as the energy of the gods attack began to interact with the magic spell. A moment later, all light in the room disappeared as all the energy was absorbed by the pit. All was black, and quiet.

A scream of tremendous power struck the magi. A black winged daemon rose from the blackness and before the magi could react, it hurled itself at the group hungrily. After the initial shock, several of the mages began to cast wards and offensive spells at the creature. In the pit more creatures emerged. Their colors varied between; red, blue, gold, black, green and silver. The first magical attacks from the magi were actually absorbed by the deamons. They could be seen to grow stronger as the energy was absorbed. At this sight the magi fled. Some by spells, some by simply running through the cracks in the walls.

Without any further targets, the deamons pushed their way through the walls of the keep, which barely restrained them, and they threw themselves into the air looking for some food. The many soldiers of the forteress fell as they found themselves defenseless against the attacks of the ravenous creatures.

… and thus, was dragon kind created.

Story of Algonian

On the Isle of Rock stands a hidden edifice containing the wonders of the known world. Beneath the floor of dirt and clay, lies a house of golden metals containing several precious items. Theses items of power have been long lost and have not seen the sunlight in many years. Some revere these things, others despise them.

The items were gathered by Algonian the Mage, advising enchanter to the council of Magi. Seen as pure examples of power, they were brought to Algonian for observation and research so that their secrets could be revealed to all of the robes.

However, where there is power, there is jealousy and greed. Thieves haunted the laboratory and in one night three were caught trying to gain access to the chamber containing the items. Having no desire to be interrupted in his studies, Algonian cast a spell of immense power and hid his home from the view and spells of mortals. Then, free from prying eyes, Algonian continued his researches. His conclusion papers were reputed to have been delivered to the council of Magi, but no one outside was given access. The fate of Algonian and the location of his home is unknown.

The house once stood as a tribute of learning, magic, and power. It now stands empty and buried save for the items, and the Guardian.

Fear the Guardian thieves and spies. For it sees all, and knows all. Only the one wielding the famous armour of the ages, and with the «eternal» sword shall pass without harassment. For only the foretold can pass the gaze of the Guardian, and be rewarded.

For those who try and fail to pass, there is but one reward...
